Steel sworn in to U.S. Congress representing California’s 48th District

Washington, D.C. – Rep. Michelle Steel (CA-48) released the following statement today after being sworn in as a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing California’s 48th District:

“This is my American dream and I am honored and humbled to serve my community as one of the first Korean-American women ever elected to Congress. Taking the oath of office to represent the nation that has blessed me with so many opportunities is a moment I will never forget. This is a responsibility that I will never take for granted, especially as so many families and businesses continue to fight back against the COVID-19 pandemic. As the Chairwoman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, I was committed to supporting business owners and workers, fighting against high and unfair taxes, supporting our seniors, and making sure our veterans receive the care they so rightly deserve. As your Representative in Congress, this mission to serve our entire district will continue, and I am ready to get to work.”
