September 10, 2022

Fountain Valley, C.A. – To provide information to prospective applicants and help connect the Orange County student community with resources, Rep. Michelle Steel (R-CA) hosted a Military Service Academy Information Night with representatives from the U.S. Army, Naval, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine Academies. The representatives gave an overview of their academies and answered questions from parents and students about the application process.

“Attending one of our nation's Military Service Academies is both an incredible opportunity and a distinguished honor for those seeking a top-notch college education,” said Rep. Steel. I was pleased to be able to host representatives of the Academies to help the students of Orange County make these important decisions about their futures, and to help the next generation of public servants start their journey.”

Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointment to U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Attendance at one of our nation’s Service Academies typically comes with the obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation.
